The World Affairs Council of Central Florida
Chastang Foundation Fellowship Program
This one-year fellowship program is made possible through the generous support of The Lawrence J. and Dora P. Chastang Charitable Foundation. Fellows will develop an understanding of the non-profit world, basic protocol, logistics and international-visitor programming. Primary responsibilities include researching projects, writing and submitting proposals, and coordinating logistics for International Visitor Leadership Program participants. Fellowships are accompanied by a $500 award per semester ($1,500 total) and can be taken for credit.
Next Opportunity: Our 2018 Fellow has already been selected. We will start accepting applications again in November 2018.
Requirements: Applicants must reside in Central Florida throughout the duration of the fellowship year and be available to work 10 hours a week during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Although the schedule will be set for each semester, some hours may vary. For example, on days that WACCFL hosts international visitors, some hours may fall outside the regular business day.
Application Process: Fellowship applications are accepted from Nov. 15-30 each year. The selected candidate must be available for orientation and training starting in December. Applicants should email a cover letter, resume, and any letters of recommendation to email@example.com with subject line “Fellowship”. In the cover letter please answer the following questions:
1. What is your major/minor, GPA, and year of study?
2. What type of work do you envision yourself doing 5 years from now?
3. How will a fellowship with the World Affairs Council of Central Florida help you achieve your academic and career goals?
